Be careful: Motorists advised to proceed with caution as frost patches are expected in some areas this morning




Motorists are being advised to proceed with extra caution this morning as forecasters have warned there could be some frost and icy patches in some areas.

The warning comes after temperatures dropped between -1 to 4C overnight.

According to Met Eireann Thursday morning will start off particularly cold with some frost and ice patches, but they are expected to clear early on as heavy showers are expected to move eastwards during the morning.

The National forecaster say it will be yet another cold days as temperatures will range between 4-8C.

It is also expected that some showers could become wintery later in the day with snow and hail showers expected mainly on higher ground.
