Motorists are being advised to proceed with caution overnight and in the early hours of tomorrow morning as a 16 hour low temperature warning has been issued.
The warning which came into effect at 6pm this evening will be in place until 10am tomorrow morning.
Met Eireann say temperatures are expected to drop as low as-4C in some areas overnight.
Meanwhile figures are expected to remain in low single figures with some wintery showers expected on Sunday.
