After more than 6 inches of water falling onto the country over the past 24 hours, Met Eireann have issued a Status Yellow weather warning and have warned motorists to be extremely careful out there tonight.

The warning has been issued with particular warning for the East coast of the country.

Emergency services are dealing with multiple incidents across the country with many accidents taking place on and in around Dublin’s City Centre. Drogheda’s turnoff to the M1 was closed briefly after a two car collision and the M3 is still closed due to very heavy flooding.

Flash floods are occurring across the county with B-Roads in particular feeling the worst brunt of the rain.
