As reported by The Liberal last night, Met Eireann issued a very heavy fog warning for Ireland.
The orange weather alert has been in place from 10pm last night until 11am this morning. Driving conditions are said to be extremely treacherous and for people to take extra care and not to drive fast – at all.
Met Eireann have said the fog will result in visibility being reduced to less than 100 metres in many areas.
The RSA is warning road users of the dangers of driving in heavy fog. Motorists are being advised to switch on their dipped headlights, reduce their speed and keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front until at least midday today.
