The national forecaster, Met Eireann has predicted that a further 8 inches of heavy snowfall will descend onto the country today, Thursday.
This in turn will leave severe accumulations of significant levels of snow and will effectively shutdown all public and private services until at least Saturday.
Met Eireann have upgraded their Red Alert for all counties across the country and the national emergency response unit has asked people to stay indoors for their own safety and for the safety of emergency personnel who are already put to the pin of their collar.
Blizzard conditioms will develop slowly at first from the south tomorrow afternoon and but by evening time they will move up the east coast with heavy snow and strong easterly winds bringing snow drifts northwards over the country.
Eastern and southern coastal counties will be worst affected by the blizzards, please share all this information with your friends.
