Britain and quite possibly Ireland could be hit with another Beast from the East this winter scientists have warned.
According to Sky News, scientists at the University College London have suggested that January and February next could be one of the coldest on record.
The team led by Mark Saunders, professor of climate prediction claim that temperatures could potentially plunge in the lead up to Christmas.
It is understood the team have been monitoring sea temperatures and air pressure over the North Atlantic.
Although the prediction is one of the biggest ever long range forecast, the team say a potential jet stream could move a cold weather system across the UK and possibly Ireland.
They added that a temperature of 3.9C could be the average in January and February 2020.
