Met Eireann is warning that the weather phenomenon that caused the Beast from the East event in 2018 is currently underway again.
A Sudden Stratospheric Warming Event (SSW) can push Arctic air eastwards over Europe, which may lead to freezing conditions and heavy snowfall.
The current outlook suggests that wintry conditions are set to return towards the middle of next week, with cold temperatures expected and the possibility of wintry falls.
If the Beast of the East Part II comes to pass, Ireland might see its effects by the end of the month, but this is far from certain.
