In a below par performance, a scrappy Irish side managed to claim a bonus point victory over a spirited Italian side.
Ireland who were ill-disciplined throughout making many handling errors, will consider themselves lucky as they just managed to get past a much improved Italian side.
Joe Schmidt’s men now go on to face France in two weeks time in a must win game in order to keep their championship hopes alive.
