Biden manages to hold on in New Hampshire as he continues his efforts to hold on to the White House

After declining to campaign or appear on the state ballot, US President Joe Biden prevailed in an uncommon write-in contest in New Hampshire, winning the state’s primarily symbolic Democratic primary, reports Breaking News.

Breaking News reports that Biden managed to defeat his primary opponents, self-help author Marianne Williamson and Minnesota representative Dean Phillips.

The president’s hold on the Democratic nomination for a second term is basically cemented by his victory in a race he was not openly challenging, reports Breaking News.

After Democrats in the state rejected a change to the primary schedule, supported by Joe Biden, that put South Carolina at the forefront of the Democratic contest for the White House, the race in New Hampshire is probably not going to count towards accumulating delegates for the presidential nomination.

In an effort to give black Democrats — the party’s most dependable base of support — and other voters of colour a bigger, earlier role in the primary, Mr. Biden sought to amend Democratic Party rules so that South Carolina would be the first state to compete on February 3, reports Breaking News.
