The U.S. House of Representatives passed President Donald Trump’s sweeping tax and spending bill, dubbed the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” with a narrow 218-214 vote.
The legislation, a cornerstone of Trump’s second-term agenda, extends his 2017 tax cuts, adds new tax breaks for tips and overtime, and increases funding for border security and defense.
It also includes significant cuts to Medicaid and other social programs, raising concerns about its $3.4 trillion impact on the federal deficit. Only two Republicans, Reps. Thomas Massie and Brian Fitzpatrick, joined all Democrats in opposing the bill. Trump is set to sign it into law on July 4 at the White House.
