A billionaire diamond trader has died during an elective operation to enlarge his penis in a Parisian plastic surgery clinic.

Ehud Arye Laniado (65) was a Belgian-Israeli diamond merchant who was involved in the diamond trade for over 40 years.

Laniado was master of rough diamond evaluation and headed his own billion-dollar company ‘Omega Diamonds’.

The dual Belgian-Israeli citizen is reported to have died during the operation of a heart attack after a substance was injected into his penis.

Laniado had been involved in an ongoing legal battle with the Belgian government who in 2013 sought almost €4.7 billion from the diamond merchant for tax evasion and the illegal importation of diamonds from the Congo and Angola.

Laniado reportedly avoided a tax evasion trial by agreeing to pay €160 million to the Belgian government.

However, the Belgian customs office suspected him of lying or giving incomplete information about some of the diamonds imported from Angola and Congo. They then again demanded the original sum of €4.7 plus an additional fine of €2 billion.

His company Omega Diamonds which is based in Antwerp confirmed Laniado’s death.
