Bin charges set to be frozen as The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission will conduct a review into price hikes

According to reports this morning the Government are set to announce that all Bin charges will be frozen in order to clamp down on waste management companies introducing price hikes.

The news comes after Minister Simon Coveney met with Waste Management companies over the weekend to discuss the issue of pay by weight charges which are set to be introduced on July 1st.

It is understood there will be freeze on all charges as The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission will conduct a review after a number consumers complained they had received notification that they will face a price increase.
