Bitterly cold week ahead as snow showers are expected whilst temperatures are set to drop as low as -5C




It will be a bitterly cold week ahead according to forecasters as temperatures are expected to drop below sub zero with some snow showers expected.

According to Met Éireann, the cold conditions will arrive as early as Monday with highs between 4-8C.

The national forecaster also say there is a strong chance of some snow showers in Western and Northern regions, whilst temperatures are expected to drop to – 1C overnight.

Tuesday will see much of the same as temperatures will remain in the low single digits during the day and snow, sleet and rain showers will move across the country during the day.

Temperatures on Tuesday night will drop to -3C. Meanwhile Wednesday is looking set to be the coldest day of the week as temperatures are expected to drop as low as -5C overnight.

Thursday will be slightly milder with temperatures ranging from 1-7C during the day, whilst snow sleet and rain showers are expected throughout the day.
