In one of the stranger stories of the week the American singer and record producer Moby claimed that he was approached by friends of his who work for the CIA and was asked to use to social media following to push anti-Trump rumours and conspiracy theories.
Moby was asked to use his status to push Trump-Russia conspiracy stories and he claimed that his contacts within the CIA told him that Trump was a Russian agent.
The claims by Moby give credence to charges made by U.S President Trump’s supporters that the so-called “Deep State”, which is to say the vast and shadowy Intelligence community in the United States, is terrified of the maverick character of President Trump and the threat this poses to their power.
It has even been suggested by President Trump himself that certain elements with the establishment and deep state are actively trying to undermine his Presidency.
