A senior figure in the “Black Lives Matter” movement has told DailyMailTV that his organisation is arming itself and “training our people to defend our communities”.
“We prepare to stop these murders by any means necessary” Hawk Newsome, Chairman of BLM’s Greater New York chapter said claiming that the group is now “mobilising its base” as leftists continue to wreak havoc with violent riots in numerous US cities for over 10 days.
BLM now intends to organise a military wing to confront police trying to carry out their duty in black neighbourhoods and communities the would-be revolutionary said.
In an apparent call to arms Newsome proclaimed:
“We want liberation. We want the power to determine our own destiny. We want freedom from an oppressive government, and we want the immediate end of government sanctioned murder by the police.
And we prepare to stop these government sanctioned murders by any means necessary.
We are preparing and training our people to defend our communities.”
Taking a page from the Black Panthers of the 1960’s and 70’s BLM will now have armed “peace officers” patrol black communities but there are fears this will lead to clashes with the police.
Meanwhile, some Democrat representatives have actually entertained the idea of de-funding the police with Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib tweeting
“Know that it’s still both, but don’t let the “who” overshadow the decades of structural racism that has created the system that allows police officer after police officer off the hook for murder. I just want us to dig deeper so that the #DefundPolice movement isn’t brushed aside.”
Expressing such sentiment would have been considered lunacy and political suicide just weeks ago but are now being voiced by key figures in the Democratic Party.
