A body has has been found in the search for the missing Japanese couple in Kilkee, Co. Clare.
Divers discovered the remains in the water off George’s Head around 12pm today.
The body has been removed from the site and is being transported to University Hospital Limerick for a postmortem examination.
Eiji Takagi (63) and Ushio Azaki (61) checked out of their hotel on the 22nd of August and their rental car was found at Gorges Head that night.
When the couple failed to make it to the airport for their flight to Tokyo, a missing persons report was filed that day, however the whereabouts of the couple could not be established.
