A member of the public discovered a dead body on waste ground at Cherry Orchard Parade, Ballyfermot, Dublin 10, at approximately 6:30am this morning.
It is understood that the body belongs to a local man aged in his 20s.
According to reports, the man sustained gunshot wounds, and a shotgun was found nearby.
The area is currently sealed off to facilitate a technical examination.
