Following the news of missing student Brian Gubbins, the body of the journalism student has been found in the River Corrib, Galway at around 10:30 this morning following a search of the area.
The search went underway after the journalism course in the University of Limerick went on a ‘mystery tour’ which brought the students to Galway.
Concern grew as 19 year old Gubbins failed to make it back to the bus on time and was last seen in Carbon Night Club a little after 12 o’clock on Thursday night.
A post-mortem examination will take place on the body and and a Police investigation is underway.
The sad news was announced on a Facebook page dedicated to finding the student.
