Boeing boss refuses to step down after two deadly crashes of the company’s flagship 737 MAX model

Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg has refused to quit, even after two deadly crashes of Boeing’s flagship aircraft, the 737 MAX.

Three hundred and forty six people lost their lives after two Boeing 737 MAX aircraft crashed in eerily similar circumstances in Indonesia and Ethiopia, less than six months apart.

Muilenburg said that he ‘deeply regrets’ the accidents, but won’t quit. Instead, he said that he wants to ‘re-earn the trust’ of customers worldwide.

The entire 737 MAX fleet remains grounded while the company works on an update to the software that controls the anti stall system fitted on the plane, which has been reported as the possible root cause of the accidents.
