Bond is back! 24th James Bond film will be called ‘Spectre’

The 24th James Bond film will be called: ‘Spectre’, and is due for release in late 2015.

Bond fans will know Spectre as the global terrorist organization from classic Bond films (the name is an acronym for all things obviously evil: Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge, and Extortion).

Filming will begin next week, director Sam Mendes has announced. The Oscar-winning director revealed the details at a hotly-anticipated event at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire.

Oscar-winning Austrian actor Christoph Waltz will play a villain in the film while Andrew Scott, best known for his role as Moriarty in BBC1’s Sherlock, will join the cast as one of 007.

Bond will once again be driving an Aston Martin, this time a DB10. Movie fans saw a previous Aston, his vintage DB5, was blown to pieces in Skyfall. The film is named after the shadowy terrorist organisation created by Bond author Ian Fleming which first appeared in his novel Thunderball.

Bond producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said they were “excited to announce Daniel’s fourth instalment in the series”.They also said they were “thrilled that Sam has taken on the challenge of following on the success of Skyfall with Spectre”.
