In a show of solidarity and support, U2 singer Bono is offering a song to Charlie Bird for his Climb With Charlie campaign.
According to RTE, Charlie met Bono some years ago in the US when he was the Washington correspondent. He said that is delighted with the gesture from Bono, saying “I am overjoyed and could not believe the message that I received from Bono.”
Bono’s song, called “Crazy Mountain” will premier on The Ryan Tubridy Show on February 4. It will then be made available on the various social media channels connected with Climb With Charlie including Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
Charlie will climb Croagh Patrick on April 2nd to raise funds for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association and Pieta House, two charities that he has huge respect for.
