A top aide to UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has resigned after comments he made in the past came to public attention causing pearl clutching controversy.
Andrew Sabisky announced his resignation on Monday saying that he did not want the “media hysteria about my old stuff online” to be a distraction for Prime Minister Johnson.
Sabisky had previously allegedly stated that, on average, black Americans have a lower IQ than white Americans and that contraception could be used as a viable means of preventing a “permanent underclass” which led to accusations of him advocating eugenics.
Announcing his resignation on Twitter Sabisky said:
“Hey all,
The media hysteria about my old stuff online is mad but I wanted to help HMG not be a distraction. Accordingly I’ve decided to resign as a contractor. I hope no.10 hires more ppl w/ good geopolitical forecasting track records & that media learn to stop selective quoting”
