Bottoms up: New light prosecco has hit the shelves that is kind to the waist

We all enjoy the occasional drink or two over the weekend but sometimes we don’t realise how much impact it has on our health especially given the fact most alcohol products are loaded with calories.

Although if you happen to be a fan of prosecco you may know it is one of the lighter drinks available, but the calories still add up if you regularly consume the sparkling wine.

Well now it seems lovers of the popular white wine will have more reason to be popping the corks from now on as an Italian winery has launched a new low calorie called Light prosecco.

The revolutionary new drink which will surely tempt weight watchers around the world has been put into production by the Casa Gancia winery.

Already much hyped by wine experts the new Prosecco reportedly only contains only 65 calories per glass as opposed to regular Processco which contains 80-90 calories a glass.

The low fat drink was apparently launched in collaboration with Stonegate Pub Company.

Speaking about its now fat content Suzanne Baker, commercial director of the Stonegate Pub Company, said:  “Prosecco is already considered one of the lighter drinks, and now with a ‘skinny’ version, this is no doubt going to tap into the growing consumer trend for low-calorie and low-sugar products.”
