Boy, 1, left fighting for his life after he is shot in the head

Police in the US city of Chicago, have launched a manhunt investigation after a 1-year-old boy was shot in the head whilst sitting in a parked car with his grandmother.

According to CBS Chicago, the infant who has been named as Chase Irving, was left on life support after he was shot in the head at close range.

Police investigating the incident say little Chase, was shot after a black saloon car pulled up beside him and someone got out and started firing.

It is believed that two women and two children aged 4 and 5 were in the car at the time of the shooting which happened near 99th and Throop.

Officers investigating the case say little Chase was rushed to a nearby hospital by his grandmother, but he has since been transferred to a children’s hospital where he remains in critical condition.

They also say that they believe that the shooting wasn’t a random attack and say it is thought that Chase’s mother was the original target.
