
Gardaí in Co Cork have confirmed that a 16-year-old boy is currently in critical condition in hospital following a road traffic incident this afternoon.
It is understood the teenager was rushed to hospital shortly after 2pm this afternoon, when the car he was travelling in collided with a lorry at Dunkerreen Cross, in Innishannon.
Gardaí say the boy was quickly rushed to Cork University Hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Meanwhile three other people including the driver of the lorry where taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Gardaí say an investigation is currently ongoing.
