A two-year-old boy is fighting for his life in hospital after his grandfather threw him inside a hot oven, after he apparently saw the devil inside his grandson.
The horrifying incident which occurred in Omsk, Russia, has left the infant in critical condition in hospital after he sustained 50% burns to his body.
According to The Daily Mail, the infant was thrown into the oven by his grandfather after he claimed he saw the devil in him following a drinking session.
The man who was described as delirious at the time of the incident, apparently snatched his grandson from the arms of his grandmother before throwing him into the scalding oven.
Left in a frantic state following the incident the boy’s grandmother managed to inform a neighbour who managed to pull the infant out of the oven.
It is believed the grandparents were left to care for their grandson whilst his mother was out working.
Police investigating the incident say the boy who was screaming in agony after being pulled from the oven was quickly rushed to hospital and placed in an induced coma.
They also say that he is currently on a breathing ventilator and is in grave condition.
Meanwhile the infant’s grandfather has since been detained by officers, who say he was drinking for a number of days.
It is reported that the man could face a lengthy prison sentence if he is convicted.
