Boy, 3, in critical condition in hospital following swimming pool incident in Spain




A 3-year-old Irish boy remains in critical condition in hospital this morning following an incident in a swimming pool in Alicante, Spain.

It is understood that the infant was found floating in the Cabo Roig urbanisation pool in Orihuela, Alicante, on Monday, morning.

Although authorities have yet to determine how the boy made his way into the pool, they have confirmed that he is in critical condition in hospital.

It is reported that paramedics performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation for over an hour in effort to revive the boy, who is now serious condition at Hospital de Alicante.

Meanwhile the Department of Foreign Affairs have confirmed that they have been made aware of the incident and they are currently providing consular assistance to the boy’s family.
