Police in Philadelphia have sadly confirmed that a four-year-old boy has sadly died after he was impaled by glass from a picture frame at his home.
According to ABC 6, the boy Adrian Ortega, 4, was tragically killed when a shard of glass pierced him in the abdomen.
It is understood the glass broke when the frame fell off the wall near where Adrian and his two younger sisters were playing.
Although his mum Amanda Velez frantically rushed him to St. Christopher’s Hospital, immediately after the incident which occurred on Wednesday afternoon, he was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
Police investigating the incident say they are currently awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination, but believe little Adrian’s death was the result of a freak accident.
