In an English courtroom, a fourteen-year-old boy has been accused of killing his eighty-year-old grandpa during an attack in a park, reports RTE.
Following Bhim Kohli’s death on Sunday night from severe injuries he sustained while walking his dog in Franklin Park, a short distance from his Braunstone Town, Leicestershire, home, a murder inquiry was opened.
The boy was arraigned this morning before Leicester Magistrates’ Court, which was functioning as a juvenile court. He was placed under detention until his appearance at Leicester Crown Court this afternoon.
The youngster, whose age prevents him from being recognised, only spoke to verify his name and birthdate, reports RTE.
Four additional kids—a girl, 14, a boy, and two girls, 12—were taken into custody on suspicion of murder, but they were later freed.

Subject to additional testing, Leicestershire Police claimed that a post-mortem examination revealed that Mr. Kohli died from a neck injury.
According to his family, he was a “loving, caring person” who liked going for walks with their dog “many times a day” at the park, reports RTE.
Due to previous engagement with the victim, Leicestershire Police claimed that it has voluntarily referred the case to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
Now that the force has had additional communication with the watchdog, an obligatory referral has been made.
The pensioner’s family paid homage to Mr. Kohli by saying, “Bhim was a beloved dad, grandpa, and spouse. He was an uncle, brother, and son as well.
“He liked being with his grandchildren and had a great affection for them. He truly was a devoted, loving man whose family was the focus of his existence. He has always been a very diligent man, and he continued to be quite busy until the age of 80. One of his great passions was his allotment, he would go every day to tend to his plots and was so proud of them. He also enjoyed walking the family dog Rocky on the park many times a day,” reports RTE.
They added: “Bhim loved to laugh. He was always very happy and talkative, the joker of the family and always loved to outsmart us with a smile. Our family have lived in the same house in Braunstone for 40 years, so he was very well known in the community – we have been overwhelmed by the messages and support from many who knew him,” reports RTE.
