Those living in the West of the country better hold on to something, as high winds are expected to hit tonight.

Met Eireann has issued a yellow alert weather warning, with winds of up to 110km expected to batter coastal areas this evening.

The warning will come into effect at midnight, and will remain in place at least until tomorrow afternoon.

Wet and windy conditions are forecast for most of the country tomorrow morning, with heavy rain expected in many areas.

The rain will turn showery later in the day, but it will likely stay windy throughout.

Unsettled weather is forecast for the next few days, with mild and wet conditions mixed with drier and colder weather.
