Joe Biden left Americans scratching their heads on Friday with a spontaneous comment that was royally unusual for a US president: “God save the queen, man!”
What he meant, which queen he meant and why he added what sounded like a traditional British patriotic exclamation, no one could immediately say.
Queen Elizabeth II, whom Biden met, died in September 2022 and was succeeded by the monarch – her son Charles, reports Times of India.
Biden concluded an emotional speech at the National Safe Communities Summit in Connecticut by urging Congress to tighten gun laws while making remarks from the stage.
The pool reporter responsible for following the president throughout his trip couldn’t help it.
He sent a message to a global group of outlets that received the Pool Report: “Several of you have asked me why he might have said that. I have no idea,” reports Times of India.
The president’s allegiance to classic, down-to-earth Bidenism — “man” — didn’t help either
