A Brazilian investigative body has recommended the indictment of Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro for ‘crimes against humanity.’
The commission, which includes eleven senators, ruled 7-4 in favor of the indictment of Bolsonaro, several companies, and a number of other individuals.
Brazil has seen over 605,000 Covid-19-related deaths, the second-highest death toll in the world. The investigative commission accuses Bolsonaro and others of enabling this massive death toll by allowing coronavirus to spread unchecked, in the hopes that the country would develop ‘herd immunity.’
