Covid-19: Government’s new guideline implies that people will be safer from coronavirus if they buy nightclub tickets at least 60 minutes prior to arriving at the door

The Irish Government’s new guideline implies that people will be safer from coronavirus if they buy nightclub tickets at least 60 minutes prior to arriving at the door.

In the latest blunder in a long litany of blunders, digital tickets will purportedly keep away the coronavirus miasma, but only if they are purchased 60 minutes in advance or over. Anyone buying tickets within 59 minutes of attending the nightclub however, is likely to be struck down by the virus the moment they show up at the venue.

Soon, anyone intending to go to a nightclub will have to:

Be fully vaccinated (definition of ‘fully vaccinated’ is yet to be determined in light of upcoming boosters)
Have a Covid-19 cert, with the name matching the name on the ticket
Produce a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of going to the venue, which implies a great degree of hassle and planning just to go to the club for a couple of hours
Wear a mask at all times, except when dancing, as dance moves are known to prevent viruses from infecting a suitable host, as we all know from Science 101
Return to their table when the dancing routine is over, put on a mask, and keep it on until the next dance routine is due. Remember, dance floors are virus-free zones, guaranteed
