Garda have arrested a man in his 30s in connection with the fatal assault of a woman in her late 20s in Midleton in Co Cork this afternoon.
Gardaà say that they are investigating everything surrounding the woman’s death, after she was found with serious injuries in her apartment off Main Street in the town at around 4.15pm.
The woman, a 27-yr-old mother-of-two who had lived in the apartment, received emergency medical attention in the apartment but sadly, she was pronounced dead a short time later.
The arrested man is being held at a garda station in Cork.
