
A man in his 70s has been killed after he was struck by a Luas tram on Marlborough Street in Dublin.
Gardaà and emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 7pm this evening. The man was declared dead at the location, with no other injuries reported.
Investigators are examining the area and local traffic is being diverted. Green Line Luas services between St Stephen’s Green and Dominick Street remain suspended, though Dublin Bus is accepting all valid tickets for the duration of the disruption.
Gardaà are now seeking witnesses and have asked anyone in the vicinity of Marlborough Street at the time to come forward. Road users and pedestrians with dash-cam or other video footage from the area are urged to share it with officers.
