An 11-yr-old boy has died after being struck by a car in Kilkeel, County Down.

The collision occurred at around 8am on the Corcreaghan Road.
Emergency services attended the scene, but the boy was pronounced dead in hospital shortly afterwards.
Detective Inspector Stewart of the PSNI Collision Investigation Unit stated that police received a report of the incident at approximately 8am, involving a car and a child on the Corcreaghan Road. Officers attended the scene along with other emergency services, but the young boy was tragically pronounced deceased in hospital a short time later.
Police are appealing for witnesses, or anyone with dash-cam or other footage, to contact detectives by calling 101 and quoting reference 242 03/02/26.
