A medical transport jet, identified as a Learjet 55 operated by Jet Rescue Air Ambulance, crashed shortly after take-off from Northeast Philadelphia Airport. The incident occurred around 6pm PST, leading to a massive explosion and fireball that engulfed several homes in the area.

The plane was carrying six people, including a child patient and five others, which included medical staff and possibly an escort.
The crash site was less than three miles from the airport, near a high traffic residential and commercial area.
First responders, including hundreds of firefighters, were quickly on the scene, dealing with the fires and initiating rescue operations.
Street closures were implemented immediately, with Cottman Avenue between Roosevelt Boulevard and Bustleton Avenue and outer southbound lanes of the Boulevard being closed to facilitate emergency response.

Jet Rescue Air Ambulance has not confirmed any survivors from the plane.
Multiple homes caught fire due to the crash, leading to a significant emergency response effort to control the blaze and search for survivors or victims.
Authorities have declared this a major incident, mobilizing all available resources to manage the aftermath.
Local media captured the event on Ring doorbell cameras, showing the moment the plane descended into the neighbourhood.

Residents were advised to avoid the area and make alternate travel plans due to the extended road closures and ongoing emergency operations.
The exact cause of the crash is under investigation, with no immediate details released on what led to the incident.
