A magnitude 6.5 earthquake has struck Boise, in the State of Idaho at 3:30am Irish time, according to the United States Geological Survey.
Thankfully there were no immediate reports of injuries, but residents in several cities reported buildings have been badly damaged. The USGS says the epicenter of the quake was nearly 45 miles west of Boise with possible aftershocks emerging.
