Fearless teacher Enoch Burke is now facing a second Christmas in Mountjoy.
The Mayo teacher who’ll never call a girl a boy has been in prison for more than 430 days, all stemming from a row over transgenderism, which eventually led to Burke’s imprisonment for contempt of court by refusing to stay away from his fomer place of work.

Tonight, at a Dublin City Council meeting, Councillor Malachy Steenson is putting a forward a motion that is calling for the Enoch Burke to be released from prison immediately and it will be put to a vote.
A two-thirds majority of the Members present at the time of voting (in the Chamber and online) must vote in favour for an item to be approved for discussion. This vote will be taken under Lord Mayor’s Business.
The Liberal understands that DCC will debate the issue this evening. Cllr. Steenson has brought forward a Motion calling for his release under topical issues.
