BREAKING: Dublin “wet pubs” to remain shut due to rise in covid cases in the capital

In what can only be described as an absolute nightmare for publicans in County Dublin, the government are expected to confirm that “wet pubs” in Dublin will not be allowed reopen on September 28th, as previously promised.

The Tánaiste Leo Varadkar said that special measures are needed to address the Covid-19 situation in the captial, and that it’s likely that pubs that do not serve food will not open in the capital city next Monday.

The rise in cases in Dublin in recent days has been of particular concern to NPHET. It’s understood that the final decision will be agreed at a full Cabinet meeting before it is announced to the public on Tuesday morning.
