The Minister for Education Joe McHugh has confirmed that the Leaving Certificate will begin on Wednesday July 29th.
Speaking in the Dáil this afternoon, McHugh confirmed that the exam is scheduled to start on July 29th unless stated otherwise.
The announcement comes after speculation has grown in recent days that exams were to take place at the end of July.
Minister McHugh said further details about the schedule will be released on the first of June.
