BREAKING: “Extremely concerning” – Astrazeneca vaccine stopped for all under-30s in the UK after 19 people have died from blood clots

Medical experts have asked people not to panic and that it’s merely a “change in course direction” and hopes that it won’t see a drop off in vaccine confidence.

The UK regulator has proposed giving people under the age of 30 an alternative vaccine to the Oxford / AstraZeneca vaccine due to the severe blood clot risks that it poses. The move follows concerns about rare forms of blood clots associated with a small number of people who have received the Oxford coronavirus vaccine.

It also comes after controversy over a number of European countries that have suspended stabbing and conflicting advice on the issue on the continent. It’s understood some 79 people in the UK have had blood clots as a result of the vaccine.

This afternoon, a review by the European Medicines Agency’s safety committee concluded that ‘unusual blood clots with low blood platelets should be listed as very rare side effects’. Scientists have repeatedly said that the benefits of the vaccine will outweigh any possible risks, but there are concerns about the effects of this particular sting on young people who are less at risk of Covid-19.
