An online vaccination portal is scheduled to go live in Ireland on April 19.
People aged between 65 and 69 will be able to register to get a vaccination appointment.
It is understood that people will then receive a text message confirming the appointment details.
This comes against the background of increasing concerns about the AstraZeneca vaccine, as reports of sometimes fatal blood clots keep surfacing.
