Following a disastrous start to the new government, Fianna Fáil’s Charlie McConalogue has been nominated as the new Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine in the Dáil today.
McConalogue will take over the role from Dara Calleary after he resigned following his attendance at the Oireachtas golfgate society dinner in Galway last month.
Calleary had taken over the role from Barry Cowen after he was given the door following the revelation of a drink-driving ban in 2016
