Thousands of people are taking part in demonstrations of solidarity for the Palestinian people across Ireland this afternoon.
Rallies in Dublin started at 2pm with numerous Palestinian flags being flown around the Ha’penny Bridge followed by a huge crowd gathering at the Spire on O’Connell Street then marching onto the Israeli Embassy in Ballsbridge. The crowds were roaring “Free, Free Palestine”.
Gardai were in attendance but many said that no social distancing was being adhered to and that gardai turned a blind eye to the large congregated crowds.
Other major events in Belfast, Cork and Galway were also held in support of Palestine.
