Met Eireann has issued a thunderstorm warning for 23 countries.
The warning affects all of Connacht, Leinster, and Ulster and will be in place until 9pm tonight.
The national forecaster is predicting a weekend of very unsettled weather, with heavy showers mixed with periods of sunshine and some isolated thunderstorms.
