As millions of Christians around the world are forced to stay away from Churches today on Good Friday due the pandemic, locals have made a report to the Gardai after streams of cars were seen entering the grounds of the Blanchardstown Mosque this aftermoon.

While Gardai strictly enforce the closure of Churches this Easter there have been numerous reports from around the country of Mosques still holding gatherings and last month footage was captured of over one hundred Muslim worshippers leaving a Mosque in Dublin City.

These reports of full Mosques have led to a perception amongst the public of a bias amongst the Gardai in relation to which forms of worship are being curtailed.

The ‘Alliance of Former Muslims of Ireland’s twitter page has shared a photo of cars entering the Blanchardstown Mosque on Good Friday with the caption:

“Earlier today, a stream of over 30 cars was spotted arriving at the Shuhada Foundation of Ireland mosque in Blanchardstown. We expect @GardaTraffic to investigate this situation. Indeed, we would hate to think that the state is being selective in curbing public worship.”
