A tragic road accident in Co Tipperary has claimed the life of an 18-yr-old woman. According to GardaÃ, her vehicle veered off the road at Kilaldry Bridge, Kilmoyer, around 10pm and plunged into the River Aherlow.
The teenager, who was driving alone, was retrieved from the water by the Garda Water Unit. Her remains have been taken from the scene, and a post-mortem examination is scheduled.
The L3101 road is currently closed for a technical investigation, with local diversions in effect.
Gardaà are urging witnesses, especially drivers with camera footage (such as dash-cam) who were on the L3101 or in the Kilmoyler area between 10pm and midnight last night, to reach out to Cahir Garda Station at 052 74-45-630, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 66-61-11, or any Garda station.
