Legendary Hollywood actor Gene Hackman sadly died of heart disease a week after his wife Betsy Arakawa who died of a rare infectious disease at their home, in different rooms, a pathologist has announced.
Dr Heather Jarrell, chief medical examiner for New Mexico, told a press conference in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and broadcast across the world that it was “reasonable to conclude” that Ms Arakawa died of Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome on 11 February at the couple’s home in Santa Fe.
The 95-yr-old star and his 65-yr-old wife were found dead, along with one of their dogs, at their home in Santa Fe, New Mexico on February 27th.
Dr Jarrell said Gene Hackman sadly died on 18 February of “hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, with Alzheimer’s disease as a significant contributory factor”.
