The Department for Health has confirmed that 17 people have died from coronavirus today and 557 more cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in the Republic of Ireland.
In an announcement made this evening the Department confirmed that there are currently 228,227 confirmed cases in the Republic of Ireland and a total 4,469 deaths.
The number of patients in ICU stands at more than 83.
